TELL US ABOUT YOUR CAREER
Ever since I was very young, I have been fascinated by the beauty industry, but I never really considered a career in this field. Later, during college, I studied Mechanical Engineering thinking I would enjoy it. Unfortunately, I didn’t. I ended up not really know-ing what I wanted to do, so I began training as a secretary in the meantime. I then worked in a dental clinic for five years. I gained a lot of experience in customer service, administration and case manage-ment. I eventually trained as a dental assistant, which taught me a lot about more technical aspects such as asepsis, surgery, general health and morphology of the face. I still use what I learned to this day. In 2004, I decided to pursue my long-standing passion and interest for aesthetics. A change of career I have never regretted!
HAVE YOU ALWAYS BEEN AN ENTREPRENEUR AT HEART ?
I come from a family of entrepreneurs, and I always knew that one day I would start my own company. After managing a medical clinic for several years, I decided to take the plunge and opened my own clin-ic in a small hair salon, in 2011. I remember thinking to myself that one day, with all my passion and hard work, Concept Dermo Esthétique would become a reference in the beauty industry! Three years later, I was moving into a new space. One day, my father, who is an accountant, told me: «You have to real-ly like what you do to work for $5 an hour». I also remember feeling indifferent because I was deter-mined to prove I could make it. Nothing is impossible when you believe in your dreams. When I have a goal, I do everything I can to achieve it, I am driven. I believe business is not just about taking risks, it’s about believing in yourself and your goals.
« I remember thinking that one day, with all my passion and hard work, Concept Dermo Esthétique
would become a reference
in the beauty industry! »

My institute is located in Rosemère, Quebec, at the intersection of Highway 640 and Labelle Boulevard, right in front of the Rosemère shopping centre. Competition in the field is very fierce, yet it has never bothered me! You just have to know how to stand out, how to be unique. It isn’t always easy, but anything is possible when you are passionate and have a good support network. I work with a fellow aesthetician and I collaborate closely with a plastic surgeon for anything that deals with injections. We offer in-depth care and treatments that guarantee durable and tangible results. We use several tech-nologies, and we work exclusively with the Image SkinCare product range. In fact, I am proud to say that in 2017 and 2018, we were named “Image Skin-care Qc Medical Spa of the Year” for two consecutive years. For the last two years, Concept Dermo Aes-thetics has kept on growing. Saskia Thuot, television host, and Ingrid Falaise, TV columnist and writer, have become ambassadors for the institute.
Offered services :
• Laser Xeo de Cutera (vascular, depilatory, rejuvenation, acne)
• IPL of Cutera (Photo Rejuvenation, Couperose)

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR CLIENT APPROACH?
I offer personalized services and I like to create meaningful and trusting relationships with my clients. I am currently serving second generation clients. I stay informed and have good listening skills, which helps me understand my client’s needs. I am always on the lookout for new products that respect my professional ethics.
WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAY TO FELLOW AESTHETICIANS?
That our industry will continue to flourish if we stay passionate, honest, concerned about offering the best service to our clients, working ethically and respect the industry and ourselves. We must be open-minded. We are not in competition, we are a team.
NOW THAT YOU HAVE BEEN CROWNED «2019 LNE AESTHETICIAN OF THE YEAR,” WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR THE COMING YEAR?
I believe this year will be filled with great oppor-tunities and possibilities to share my passion for aesthetics. Mentoring is something that appeals to me. I would like to give time and share advice with young entrepreneurs to help them make informed business decisions. I would also like to help clients recognize industry standards so they can make informed choices about treatments and where to get them. I believe formal, professional training and certification in aesthetics are very important. It should be regarded as a means to promote the industry. The future of the aesthetics is in our hands.
